Life in Motion: The Lades of Powell, Ohio.
If you strip away the loan files, the meetings, and the constant hum of market updates, what’s left is simple: I’m a husband, a dad, a Browns fan (which means I’ve learned patience), and a guy who loves building a life in Columbus.
I live in Powell, Ohio, with my wife and our two kids. They’re the reason I start early, push hard, and still make it home for dinner—even if it means finishing a few things after bedtime. Around our house, the noise level is a sign of life, and if the golf bag isn’t in the car, it’s probably sitting by the door waiting for Saturday morning.
We spend weekends at the fields and courts coaching and cheering for our kids’ teams, sneaking in a golf round when we can, and winding down with family movie nights. My kids have no shortage of energy—or opinions—and honestly, I wouldn’t want it any other way.
When the Browns are playing, the whole house knows it. Win or lose, there’s yelling, snacks, and a lot of “next year is our year” optimism. I keep a fantasy-football league going with friends that’s half competition, half group therapy for Cleveland fans.
And when it’s soccer season, we’re all-in on the Columbus Crew. The kids know the chants by heart, and game days are sacred in our house—black and gold gear laid out early, snacks prepped, and plenty of energy to burn. There’s something special about watching our home team represent Columbus the way it does—loud, loyal, and never out of the fight.
Community matters to us. My wife and I volunteer through our local school PTO, helping with events and keeping families connected. Powell has that small-town feel with just enough pulse to keep things interesting, and it’s a great place to raise a family. The people here care, and it shows.
We travel when we can—New York, the beach, anywhere we can get the kids off their devices and into the world. There’s usually a golf course or baseball field somewhere in the mix, but that’s just how we like it: busy, connected, and a little bit chaotic in the best way.
At the end of the day, it’s not about the perfect schedule or the perfect plan—it’s about doing work that matters and still making time for the people who matter more. That’s the balance we chase every week in our little corner of Columbus.
